Description

Pelican Post is a narrative game where you’ll take on the role of Pepper, who moves to a new town to take a job as a mailman. Along the way, she’ll learn that there’s more to the job than just delivering packages. By talking with and completing tasks with the colorful cast of characters who inhabit Port Pleasant, you’ll help to bring people back together who have drifted apart over the years and build a stronger community. "Small acts of kindness" is pretty much in the job description.

History

Pelican Post started with a team of five friends at Rochester Institute of Technology who wanted to make a game. We had planned to enter a game jam in January 2024, and came up with the idea of repairing a community by making connections between neighbors as a mailman. Despite not having a lot of time to work during the jam, we loved the idea so much, we decided to continue working on it. Since then Pelican Post has grown from five members to nine, as we continue to build out the world of Port Pleasant. Pelican Post is built in GameMaker, with Ink serving as our dialogue engine. We were a part of the spring 2025 MAGIC Spell Studios Maker Program cohort and plan to publish Pelican Post with them in 2026.
